This is where you set conditions that you want Web ViewPoint Enterprise to watch for, issue alerts, and take action when they occur. You may set as many alert conditions as needed. Web ViewPoint Enterprise can watch the following set of entities and metrics.
Note: While the action taken in response to occurrence of a certain event is similar to that of other entities, the triggering condition is different.
Summary list displays a list of previously defined Alerts. Click on any column heading to sort the list for that column. Click on Edit or Delete button, next to each Alert to edit its profile, or delete its definition.
Click on the Add button on the top right to add a new Alert profile. Following are the parameters to select:
- Watch for: Select the Entity and Metric. Both are required. The applicable metrics for the selected entity are shown.
- Threshold: Identify what constitutes a Major and Minor alert condition. You must specify at least one type.
- Specify the threshold value and the duration for which it must persist for an alert condition to be considered as breached.
- Note: State metrics such as CPU Down, Process Looping etc. Don’t have tolerance conditions. These are considered as Major and an alarm would be generated as soon as the condition occurs.
- Monitor: Specify how frequently Web ViewPoint Enterprise should watch for this profile and select weekdays and hours which this profile applies to. Default is 24*7.

If so, select the option, and then select orderly from the volume to subvolume to file list to select the Obey or TACL macro file. You can also specify the outfile where the results of the operation would be logged.
