Re-Authentication

A session timeout is a security and usability feature used in Web ViewPoint Enterprise to limit the duration of a user’s session. If there is no activity from the user for a specific period, the session will automatically expire. This means the user will need to log in again to ensure the session is still secure and to continue using the application.

The timeout duration is configured in My NonStop and controlled by the following parameters:

SESSION-TIMEOUT

This Param controls how long the user session stays alive if no new request is sent. Default is 60 minutes, but it can range from 5 minutes to 43200 minutes (30 days).

CCMOPER-TIMEOUT

Period (in seconds) CCMOPER stays alive with the recent user’s access id. Default is 600 seconds, but it can range from 1 to 1800 seconds.

CCMOPER-AUTHENCACHE

Period for which MFA token will be cached. Default is 300 seconds, but it can range from 1 to 600 seconds.

If MFA is used, the user required to provide the PIN+Token combination when prompted for the password. Web ViewPoint Enterprise does not provide any direct indication of the authentication method that has been configured for the specified user. Depending on the CCMOPER-TIMEOUT and CCMOPER-AUTHENCACHE values, when accessing Admin operations and/or Operation functions, the user will be asked for re-authentication. This is addition to the authentication done at the logon screen.
