Smart Metrics – Overview

You now have the ability to customize Disks and Processes to monitor on the dashboard.
Disk Profiles
You now have the ability to customize Disks to monitor on the dashboard.
- Enter the Disk names you want to monitor, you have the options to select All Disks or select specific Disk name(s) from the list.
- Choose the metric you would like to monitor, such as % DP2 Busy or Queue Length.
- Set threshold value to display the metrics that are above it.
- Choose the display option:
- All will allow the profile to be displayed with charts and tables
- Top n will restrict the profile metric to be shown as table.
- Retention defines how long to keep data in memory on the dashboard in minutes.
- By default, your Smart Metric profile is Public, i.e., all other users can see and modify it. You can change the scope to Private to make your profile not visible to other users.
Process Profiles
You now have the ability to customize Processes to monitor on the dashboard.
- Enter the Process name, Owner or Program that you want to monitor.
- Name. Enter the full name of the process, starting with ‘$’.
- Owner. Enter the owner of the process in ‘group.user’ format.
- Program. Enter the program location in ‘$volume.subvolume.filename’. You are also allowed to use wildcard character: $volume.subvolume.*’
- Choose the metric you would like to monitor, such as % CPU Busy, Queue Length or Memory Used (MB).
- Set threshold value to display the metrics that are above it.
- Choose the display option:
- All will allow the profile to be displayed with charts and tables

Adding Frame
- To add a new frame on the dashboard. First, select a Server.
- Based on previously configured Smart Metrics, you should be able to select the Profiles tab.
- Select the Smart Metrics Profile that you would like to monitor.
- Select the preferred metric that you would like to monitor.
- Select whether you would like a Line, Bar, Pie or Table display (options, subject to availability).
