Updating Owner SSIDs

SSIDPOP is a program used to populate the OWNERDB & SSIDDB file with Owners and subsystem names. This program can be used to copy all the owners and ssids from your server’s non-resident template file to WVP E’s SSID repository. By default, SSIDDB file is populated with TANDEM and it’s SSIDs.

Instructions to run the SSIDPOP program:

RUN SSIDPOP <TYPE> <ARG2> <ARG3>

Argument Options Description
TYPE REQUIRED
OWNER or TEMPLATE
Specifies the type for argument 2 that will be passed in.
ARG2 OPTIONAL
When TYPE is OWNER: Owner name. e.g. GEMINI
DEFAULT:TANDEMREQUIRED
When TYPE is TEMPLATE: template location. e.g. $SYSTEM.NSTEMP.PBM9TMPO
Specifies either the owner or the template location.
It is optional when TYPE is owner and defaults to TANDEM.
Required when TYPE is TEMPLATE.
ARG3 OPTIONAL
When TYPE is TEMPLATE: TEMPLI program location
DEFAULT
$SYSTEM.SYSTEM
Specifies the location of the TEMPLI program. Defaults to $SYSTEM.SYSTEM

 

  • RUN SSIDPOP OWNER

This command updates the SSIDDB file with TANDEM and it’s subsystems

  • RUN SSIDPOP TEMPLATE $VOLUME.SUBVOL.NRESIDENT
  • This command copies all the Owners and SSIDs from the server’s Non-resident template files.

Example:

  • RUN SSIDPOP TEMPLATE $SYSTEM.NSTEMP.PBM9TMPO — > You can find the non-resident template location as shown below.

Please do a FUP PURGEDATA on SSIDDB & OWNERDB before you run this command.

 This should populate the OWNERDB & SSIDDB file and you should see new owners and their SSID’s in the dropdown list.
