What are my selection options for Live Event Viewing?

Source/Time

  • Profile: You may select from a list of previously defined Profiles. This will display the Profile’s earlier set search criteria. You may use the setting as is or modify as needed. Details on how to create or change a profile are described further below.
  • Collectors: List of current EMS Collectors on one or more Servers are available. Select any one or more (max is 10). Also select to display from now forward, or a prior period.
  • You may also select a starting point from near Past.
    • From & To: Period to review the Events for.
    • Go: Whether Events should be displayed forward or backward in time.
  • Log files: Select one or more EMS log files (only one per Server) to read Events from. Follow the prompts to select Node, Volume, and SubVolume. List of EMS Log files (file code 843) will be displayed.  Select one and click on + to add to your selected list.
    • From & To: Period to review the Events for.
    • Go: Whether Events should be displayed forward or backward in time.

Filter

  • File: Select one or more EMS Filter files (only one per Server). Follow the prompts to select Node, Volume, and SubVolume. List of available EMS Filter files will be displayed. Select one and click on + to add to your selected list.
    • Toggle button (Yes/No). Whether Events that pass or fail these criteria should be displayed. Default is No.
  • Event: Progressively narrow down the Events you want displayed. After each specification, click on + to add to your selected list.
  • Only: Progressively narrow down the origin of Events.
    • Whether Events from these origins should be excluded.  Default is No.
    • Enter a string of characters (wildcards are allowed. Characters ‘: / ?& =’ are disallowed) to search for and match in the text of each message.
      Added support for Regex in the string field. The syntax supported follows the POSIX Extended Regular Expression standards.

  • Regular Expression. Default Is No.
  • Case Sensitive. Default is No.
  • Type: Select any one or more to specify the type of Event severity.
  • Acked By: Filters the events Acked (acknowledged) by a specific user.

Display

  • Skin – Select from available Skins. See Skins on how to create one.
  • Template – Select from available Templates. See Template on how to create one.
  • Show Date – Whether the DATE segment from of time stamp should be displayed. Default is Yes.
  • Show Collector – Toggle button (Yes/No). On selecting this option, the collector of the EMS message will be displayed on Yes. The collector name will contain the resident name too.
  • Truncate Text – Whether text should be truncated to prevent line wrapping.

Click on the Submit button to display the Events matching your criteria.

Profiles

You may save your criteria with a name of your choice. This will enable you to quickly select a Profile the next time you want to view Events. Defined Profiles are shared between all users. Click on the Profiles… button to expose the following options:

  • Save – This option is available only If a Profile is already selected. Current Criteria Is saved under the same name.
  • Save as Profile – Name a new Profile to save the current criteria under.
  • Other Profiles – Select a previously created Profile to save the current criteria under.
